The student body at West Grade School put on two performances of E-I-E-I-oops - the tale of a young cow yearning for his lost ‘moo’. Haley played the part of a duckling. He even insisted on wearing a bright yellow shirt underneath his costume to ensure maximum duckiness.

All of the students at West Gresham performed a series of holiday tunes for the annual Christmas show while flash-happy parents gazed proudly. Amma Margee and I tried to get some pix (Ampa Richard babysat Logan & a headcold), but a dark gym and constant kid motion didn’t mix well. We did, however, capture Haley with his 1st grade teacher!

New school. New grade. New teacher. Sound scary? Apparently someone forgot to tell Haley to be nervous. He bounced out of bed, gobbled down his traditional inaugural breakfast, and soon after he was strutting down the halls of grade school like he owned the joint. As I said goodbye, the tears were in my eyes.

Caitlin and her best friend, Kristen, visited Portland. We spent the day at Reed College, Lewis & Clark College, and Portland State University and then we talked into the wee hours of the night - about life, God, and much in between. What bright girls! I’m so proud of them (and lucky to be related).
